The purpose of worship is to come into the presence of God to receive His gifts, and to respond with praise and thanksgiving. We receive the gift of life throught he good news of Jesus love and forgiveness. This love and forgiveness is delivered through the teaching and the two sacraments of Baptisma nd the Lord's Supper.

Fear has a way of making us shrink back, especially when following God means facing rejection or opposition. In Jeremiah 26, God sends Jeremiah to stand in the temple courtyard and boldly proclaim a message of repentance. Rather than listening, the people seize him and call for his death. Jeremiah reminds us that God's Word always calls us to a decision. Will we reject it, or will we humbly receive both its conviction of our sin and its promise of forgiveness through repentance and faith?
True courage is not the absence of fear but trusting God's promises more than our fears. Jesus Himself experienced fear as He faced the cross, yet He endured suffering and death to rescue us from sin and give us the certainty of eternal life. Because of Christ, we can faithfully live and speak God's truth, knowing that whatever we face, He is with us. Our confidence is not found in our circumstances but in the promise that we are safe in His hands, both now and forever.
