The purpose of worship is to come into the presence of God to receive His gifts, and to respond with praise and thanksgiving. We receive the gift of life throught he good news of Jesus love and forgiveness. This love and forgiveness is delivered through the teaching and the two sacraments of Baptisma nd the Lord's Supper.

This past Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Andy reflected on Pentecost and the work of the Holy Spirit through God’s people. Looking at Moses’ prayer in Numbers 11 and the outpouring of the Spirit in Acts 2, we were reminded that God’s Spirit is not limited to one person, one church, or one style of ministry. Instead, the Holy Spirit continues to work through ordinary people to proclaim Christ and share His love with the world.
Pastor Andy encouraged us not to compare ourselves to other churches or ministries, but to celebrate wherever Christ is being proclaimed. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are freed from jealousy, insecurity, and the need for control, and are instead sent out as Spirit-filled people who reflect Christ in everyday life. Whether through prayer, kindness, encouragement, or sharing God’s Word, the Holy Spirit continues to work through His people here in Lakeland and beyond.
